Fire Departments
  • Durango Fire & Rescue Authority
    The Durango Fire & Rescue Authority is a combination department with a total of 171 employees and members. The department maintains 15 stations, 3 of which are staffed by paid fire fighters and medics, while the remaining 12 stations are crewed by our dedicated volunteers. Our primary response area encompasses 385 square miles.
  • Upper Pine River Fire Protection District
    The Upper Pine River Fire Protection District covers 264 square miles of eastern La Plata County. We are mostly an urban interface fire protection district. We work closely with mutual aid with the forest service and surrounding fire districts.
  • Farmington, NM Fire Department
    Our mission, in serving the citizens and visitors of Farmington, is to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property through education, emergency intervention, and code interpretation.

  • International Association of Fire Chiefs
    Established in 1873, the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) is a powerful network of more than 12,000 chief fire and emergency officers. Our members are the world's leading experts in fire fighting, emergency medical services, terrorism response, hazardous materials spills, natural disasters, search & rescue, and public safety legislation.
  • Colorado State Fire Chiefs' Association
    The Colorado State Fire Chiefs' Association is dedicated to providing leadership, education, and support to the Chief Officers of Colorado fire departments in order to reduce the loss of life and property and to protect Colorado's citizens and institutions from all types of emergencies. It values the safety of firefighters, by providing educational opportunities and a safe work environment.
  • Colorado Fire Training Officers Association
    The goal of the Colorado Fire Training Officers Association (CFTOA) is to promote a safe and professional Colorado Fire Service through the use of professional standards and quality, centralized and uniform training and education. The CFTOA will adhere to this doctrine and willingly share their knowledge to decrease the incident of firefighter injury and death.
  • 4 Corners Fire Training Officers
    The goal of the FCFTOA is to promote a safe and professional Four Corners Area Fire Service through the use of professional standards and quality, centralized and uniform training and education. Our intention of this site is to be a tool for our Four Corners Region to have information and services available to training officers and instructors.
  • EMS Association of Colorado
    The Emergency Medical Services Association of Colorado (EMSAC) is a not-for-profit society of emergency medical service professionals. Founded as the EMT Association of Colorado in 1973, it is one of the oldest state EMS organizations in the nation.
  • Colorado RETAC
    Colorado has 11 emergency medical and trauma regions. Each region consist of 5 or more counties that participate through a local advisory council. Each RETAC has a coordinator that provides support and services to the member counties.
  • South West RETAC
    It is the mission of the Southwest Regional Emergency and Trauma Advisory Council (SWRETAC) to maintain, improve and expand quality regional EMTS (emergency medical and trauma services) system development in Southwest Colorado.

  • Fired-Up Training
    Fired Up Training Services, LLC is a Limited Liability Company that exists to provide top quality training services to members of the fire service. All of our classes are delivered by qualified and experienced fire service professionals who are eager to provide your members with a quality learning experience. Most have volunteer experience and can tailor presentations to the specific make up of your department. We have taught hundreds of classes to thousands of firefighters.
  • On the Job Emergency Services Training
    The mission of On the Job Emergency Services Training, LLC is to provide quality training and consultation services that instills a culture of leadership, initiative and teamwork to individuals and emergency services organizations. At On the Job EST we believe in learning as much as you can, every training, every incident, every day. Our instructors work with colleagues from across the country that can assist you with many facets of your organization with topics such as Rapid Intervention, Leadership, Technical Rescue, Fire, or Emergency Medical Services.

    FirefighterCloseCalls.com was an idea born from The Secret List, an independent newsletter produced since 1998 in an effort to bring forward the issues involving injury and death to firefighters... often issues that are ignored, quickly forgotten or just not talked about. Originally started as an e-mail group amongst some close friends in the fire service, it is currently received by thousands of fire service members.
  • National Firefighter Near-Miss Reporting System
    The National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System is a voluntary, confidential, non-punitive and secure reporting system with the goal of improving fire fighter safety. By collecting and analyzing information on near-miss events, improvements can be made in command, education, operations and training.
