Captain Brandy Vega Brandy Vega is the Captain for "C" Shift at Los Pinos Fire. She is a native of Southwestern Colorado and has spent most of her life living in the area. She has an associate degree in Early Childhood Development and spent some time as a Preschool teacher. She had worked in the local oil and gas industry before being employed by Los Pinos Fire. Brandy started out as the Fire District's photographer in 1991, and became interested in and started studying fire investigation. In 2002 she became a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT. When Los Pinos Fire made the transition from all volunteer to combination in 2003, Brandy became a career firefighter. She has since advanced to the rank of Shift Captain. She also obtained her EMT-Intermediate certification in July of 2005.

Firefighter/Paramedic Josh Lorenzen Joshua Lorenzen has been married to his wife Aaron since 1997 and they have two children, Aubree and Isaac. Josh became a full time employee with Los Pinos Fire Protection District after the transformation to a combination fire service took place in 2003. He started his fire career as a Volunteer with Upper Pine River Fire District in Bayfield, CO back in 1998. He is currently certified as a Nationally Registered Paramedic, and has earned Colorado Firefighter 1 and Hazardous Materials Awareness certificates. Outside of his full time job with Los Pinos Fire, he also holds a part-time position with the Durango Fire and Rescue Authority.

Firefighter/Paramedic Jonathan Gilbert

Firefighter/Medic Charles Talley Charles R. Talley and his wife Pam have two children, Kara Piercon and Brandon Talley. Charles and Pam also have two grandchildren, Hiele and Rylee Piercon. Prior to going full-time with the Fire District, Charles had worked as a cabinet maker since 1978. He has lived in La Plata County since 1984 and has had his own wood working business here for a number of years. Charles started out as a Volunteer Firefighter with Los Pinos Fire in 2002 and successfully tested for a full-time position in 2004. He is a Colorado certified Firefighter 1 and 2 and also holds an EMT-Basic (IV) certification. Charles serves as the leader for the Fire District’s Technical Rescue Team and has certified as a high angel rescue technician, a confined space rescue technician, as well as a swift water rescue technician. He also works as a medic on the Southern Ute Police Department’s SWAT team. Charles is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, rock and mountain climbing, back packing, kayaking, rafting, mountain biking, camping, four wheeling and having fun with his grandchildren.
