Firefighter/Medic Charles Talley
Charles R. Talley and his wife Pam have two children, Kara Piercon and Brandon Talley. Charles and Pam also have two grandchildren, Hiele and Rylee Piercon. Prior to going full-time with the Fire District, Charles had worked as a cabinet maker since 1978. He has lived in La Plata County since 1984 and has had his own wood working business here for a number of years. Charles started out as a Volunteer Firefighter with Los Pinos Fire in 2002 and successfully tested for a full-time position in 2004. He is a Colorado certified Firefighter 1 and 2 and also holds an EMT-Basic (IV) certification. Charles serves as the leader for the Fire District’s Technical Rescue Team and has certified as a high angel rescue technician, a confined space rescue technician, as well as a swift water rescue technician. He also works as a medic on the Southern Ute Police Department’s SWAT team. Charles is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, rock and mountain climbing, back packing, kayaking, rafting, mountain biking, camping, four wheeling and having fun with his grandchildren.
